Make Your Own Personalised Candle Labels

You’ve just poured your last batch of wax and now you’re onto the presentation stage and looking to label your candles. We’re here to help you.

We have a range of candle label materials to choose from. Rather than use paper that is flammable, we use a self-extinguishing vinyl, which is more heat tolerant. Not that your label should come into contact with the flame, but just in-case it happens our labels will not catch alight and burn like paper.

Our labels are printed beautifully in full colour process and you can have them in either a gloss or matt finish. The material can be cut to your exact requirements and are supplied on easy peel sheets, ready to place on your containers.

To order your candle labels, simply fill in the options above and select how to supply your artwork. You can either upload a file or design them directly online using our dedicated label designer.

CLP Regulations and Candle Labels

Before you put your candle labels on the market you’ll need to be aware to the CLP Regulations. This is to show the end user the hazardous chemicals contained within your product and needs to be on the associated packaging.

The regulations state that the label containing the CLP information should be stuck to the immediate packaging/product containing the chemicals/substance.

You’ll need to include the following on your product to conform to the standards.

Product Identifier

This is the name of the product and should clearly state what is included in the product. The product identifier should be in the most prominent position on your label. You can also include other information such as a batch number of the products SKU.

Alergen Information

If your product contains hazards, of which some are allergens, you’ll need to include these on the packaging label. No more than 4 chemicals should be used in this part of the candle label so it’s easily identifiable and doesn’t get confused with the ingredients. The more obvious these are the better.

Signal Word / Warning

There are different grades of severity of the chemicals/substances within candle mixture. Be sure to include the appropriate signal word, whether that is WARNING or DANGER. You’ll be able to find which word to use using the associated chemical classification data.

Hazard and precautionary statements

It goes without saying that if your candle mixture contains harmful chemicals you’ll want to let the user know what to do in an emergency or for disposal. You’ll need to supply a statement on how to prevent harm, minimise danger to both human health and the environment. This will be in accordance with the chemicals used within and may not be a generic statement.

Hazard Icons

You must add the relevant warning icons to your labels that are associated with each hazard. Each icon should be a minimum of 2x2cm in size. From measurements below 125ml, only one icon is required. Above 125ml then you are required to use all that are applicable.

Supplier Address and Phone Number

This is the easy bit, make sure your label contains your full business contact details. If this isn’t a business yet, you’ll need to put your personal details on. There are many reasons why this is required, mainly for insurance and liability.

Candle Labels to complement your branding

When you think about candle labels, you might initially be misled into thinking that it’s just a bunch of graphics, text and images to help people find what they’re looking for.

In truth, there’s a lot more going on behind those labels than meets the eye. And this is especially important to know as an aspiring candle maker. For instance, apart from the rather obvious element which is burn quality, the label is your one chance to communicate with your end user.

Many printing companies charge an arm and a leg for something as basic and ‘everyday’ as candle labels, although here at Stickythings, despite having years of printing experience and offering some of the best quality candle labels in the industry, we still offer highly competitive prices.

    Find your candle label now

Now, with us, even though it may not cost a lot to make your own unique candle labels, we feel that it is still crucial element that deserves attention. After all, this is valuable real estate where you can brand your candle a specific way, put safety instructions, contact information or information pertaining to flavour and size, features and benefits, etc. or anything else that might help you sell your product and market the business better.

The importance of quality candle labels

A quality candle label must always satisfy a few generic requirements. For instance, it should not only fit nicely on the candle itself, but it must also be fire-proof and water resistant. It mustn’t turn black from the candle’s heat and must also meet with all safety requirements. Just to reiterate, your candle label is a golden chance to communicate what you must to your customer.

At Stickythings, we take advantage of cutting-edge label printing technology to offer you customised candle labels. Our presses undergo daily calibration to ensure the highest colour consistency and accuracy across all print runs.

Our broad range of candle labels are available in any shape and size, as well as a choice of suitable materials. Choose from glossy, white, clear or a variety of designs to make your candle labels pop out in store shelves.
